The Council of Woodwork Clubs is a non-political umbrella body for Woodworking Clubs throughout Australia.  It provides a means of communication and interaction between woodwork clubs and also has a group Public Liability Insurance policy at a reasonable cost for those clubs that wish to take out the arranged cover.  The cover is for $20million. Further details are contained in the Application form.

 

Membership of the Council of Woodwork Clubs is open to any club that undertakes predominantly woodworking activities, including Mens Sheds. 

 

Membership and the PL Insurance policy run from 1 July to 30 June of the following year.  We do not have pro-rata membership.

The Council offers member clubs the option of participating in the Council's group Public Liability Insurance policy for woodwork clubs.  Clubs that take out the Insurance policy are entitled to full membership of the CWC - including voting rights.

Clubs wishing to take out the public liability insurance must have, or be in the process of establishing, an appropriate Occupational Health and Safety Policy and procedures for operation of equipment.

​

Clubs that have made alternative arrangements for their Public Liability Insurance coverage are still welcome to join the CWC as a "Friend" - without voting rights - for a modest annual fee.  This enables them to still be kept up to date with news and events publicised by the CWC in our e-newsletters.
