Membership and Pub Liab Insurance

The Council of Victorian Woodwork Clubs was formed in July 1998 to develop interaction between clubs and to run an annual festival. Because the cost of Public Liability Insurance was a heavy expense for clubs, it was decided that the CVWC would organize a Group Public Liability Insurance Policy.

Interstate clubs also saw the value of this policy and by 2003 it was decided to change our name to the Council of Woodwork Clubs to reflect our Australia wide membership.

A volunteer organisation, our vision is to facilitate a strong interstate network of woodwork clubs, interacting effectively for information exchange, joint projects and negotiating, while maintaining the individuality and strength of member clubs.

The insurance cover is of vital importance to the clubs throughout Australia. The CWC holds a reserve to pay any excess on a claim and to provide a buffer for premium increases.

The current CWC membership for 2020 is 141 clubs with full membership:

WA-5, VIC-42 , TAS-3, SA-18, QLD-33, NSW-38, ACT-2

and 6 clubs which have taken out membership as "Friends of the CWC".

The aim of this website is to provide up-to-date information on the CWC, woodworking exhibitions, club activities, new and old woodworking methods or styles, promote the craft of working with wood and any other points that may be of interest.

The CWC welcomes any suggestions for improving or inclusions to this site, which can be made by using the contact form at the bottom of this page, or by email.
