Events

  • There will be a Heritage Makers Fair in Gympie on 5 - 6 July 2025.  The fair is considered to be one of the largest of its kind in Queensland.   The fair includes woodworking and quilts and more. - it’s an outstanding showcase presenting over 80 demonstrating makers of heritage trades, including a Woodcraft Arena - woodcarving, woodturning, spoonsmithing, guitar & harp making, whittling, pyrography, intarsia - it’s a full day to see it all!  Further information can be found at www.makersfair.au
     

  • The Annual Woodworking Expo of the Berwick District Woodworkers Club will be held on the weekend of 12-13 July 2025 at their club house.  Tour the extensive workshop and enjoy the display of items made by club members.  Admission is free with tea and coffee available.  There will be demonstrations, items for sale, a kids’ activity corner and raffle tickets available.  Location:  The Old Cheese Factory, 34 Homestead Road, Berwick, Victoria  3806.  Enquiries can be made to John McMahon on 0437 096 840
    There is plenty of parking available on the grounds.
     

  • The Far South Coast Regional Exhibition of Woodwork will be held on 7 & 8 June 2025.  This is the 29th year of the event and it is jointly run by Narooma Woodies and Eurobodalla Woodcraft Guild. Other participants are the Bega Woodcrafters and the Dalmeny Quilters. This event has previously been held at Central Tilba but for this year it will be held in the Narooma Leisure Centre while the Tilba Halls are renovated. The address is 100 Bluewater Dr, Narooma NSW 2546 and opening times will be Saturday 7th June 9am to 4pm and Sunday 8th June 9am to 3pm.  A large turnout is anticipated as this is a great community event and they will be showcasing many first class woodwork products. There will also be a raffle held with some great prizes to be won which are kindly donated by a number of local businesses.  A flyer is attached.
     

  • Wood Dust backstreets is holding a series of workshops on 6 - 10 October 2025.  Further information from their website
     

  • The Cooroora Woodcraft Show will be held on 10-11 October, 2025 at the Cooroy Memorial Hall, Maple St Cooroy Q 4563.  Demonstrations of carving, turning, scroll sawing, pyrography and more will be continuously held during the show.  Purchase a variety of beautifully finished timber pieces including milled timber.  Check out the inter-club, intra-club and high school competition exhibits, vote for the People’s Choice award and buy tickets in our very popular woodwork raffle.  For further information, email show@cooroorawoodworkersclub.com or contact Donna Horn on 0409 069 904
     

  • Goulburn Valley Woodworkers are planning their annual woodshow to be held on 25 & 26 October 2025.  It is important for anyone planning to visit Shepparton this weekend to book accommodation early as there is also a large soccer tournament being held in Shepparton this same weekend.  Further details at a later date.
